The Protest: Theatre, Dystopia, and Social Justice

Over the course of 2 days, 5 high school students, from 4 different high schools, took part in various improv, movement, and writing exercises. Together they determined the theme for the weekend, set the scene, created characters, and each wrote their own original pieces. A weekend that started with 5 young people who didn’t know each other prior to logging on, ended in an original piece with an interesting look at a protest.

Jayden, 17 had this to say “I really enjoyed the theater workshop with Inspired Aesthetics. I’m interested in doing theatre as a career and I feel like this workshop really helped me create a solid structure for that. The environment was really welcoming and supportive, even when you thought you may have messed up on a line or had an idea you didn’t think was great.”

“In addition to that, we got to work on screenplay writing which was really helpful. Overall, it was a fun time and I feel that I’ve improved as a writer and actor. I recommend Inspired Aesthetics for anyone interested in the arts.”
